Penetrant Testing (PT) is used to detect surface defects in castings, forgings, and welded surface defects such as hairline cracks, surface porosity, and fatigue cracking on in-service components. We certify our personal in accordance with American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) requirements. Our inspectors are qualified to ASNT-TC-1A.  Pegasus has the latest technology in equipment to perform (PT) on-site, in-house, as well as call-out work. Advantages of Penetrant Testing

Highly Visible Results: Test results are visible to the naked eye or with the use of fluorescent light. Indications are produced directly on the surface of the part and constitute a visual representation of the flaw.

Highly Adaptive: to a range of materials.  Magnetic. nonmagnetic, metallic, nonmetallic, conductive, and nonconductive materials may be inspected.

Highly Sensitive: The method has high sensitivity to small surface discontinuities.

Economical: Large areas and large volumes of parts/materials can be inspected rapidly and at low cost.
